The fund is aimed at directors, although producers can apply on their behalf.
We do award grants to filmmakers who have already raised a proportion of their budget and are looking for completion funds, as well as filmmakers for whom the total grant money will make up their entire budget.
If you have already raised funds for your short film then we will need to see contracts you have with other bodies or individuals to make sure that our principles align with theirs.
We will consider short films with any budget, however please note that the £1,000 that we can offer needs to either fully fund the film, or be completion funds with no more remaining funds required.
We fund short films. We are open to all genres, including animation.
The project has to have a director attached. A director can submit, or a producer can submit on the directors behalf.
Funds are released after a contract is presented and signed between the director and Emerging Voices Film Foundation. Typically this is around October / November.
The Emerging Voices Short Film Fund is free to enter.

’Sinnerman covers the important topic of sexuality and religion. It speaks to a so far unspoken part of the community and shines a light on the lonely struggles that some religious people are going through. Outside the context of religion this is a film about power; the power someone can have over another, the power of shame, the power of reputation within a community.’

‘Documentary about Rose’s House, a nondescript terraced home in Sheffield during the late 1970s and 80s, which provided a safe space for a marginalised community of trans women to express themselves and find refuge from the hostilities they experienced in the wider world.
